Welcome to the Calhoun R-VIII School District! I feel honored and privileged to have the opportunity to work with our children, families and staff. I look forward to working together to provide the best education and opportunities for our students.
I joined Calhoun R-VIII School District in 2019, following 4 years of administration within the Madison C-3 School District. My career began over 20 years ago at Craig R-III School District, where I taught K-12 PE and coached Volleyball, B/G Basketball and B/G Track. Over the years I have had the pleasure to serve in many capacities from teaching Physical Education, Health, At Risk and serving in administration as Assistant Principal, Head Principal, Athletic Director and Superintendent. I have coached Volleyball, Softball, Baseball, Cross Country, Track, Football and Boys/Girls Basketball and have enjoyed the many experiences as a teacher, coach and school leader.
I grew up in Iowa and received my undergraduate degree from Wartburg College in Physical Education with an endorsement in coaching and also played college basketball while there. After that I earned three graduate degrees over the years in Educational Administration and Leadership from William Woods University.
I view a collaborative school environment as the key to creating successful teachers and students. I believe partnerships with parents and community members are essential to enriching the experience at Calhoun R-VIII Schools.
During my free time, I enjoy traveling and spending time with family.
